Wolves and Cool Cats

On the eve on New Years Eve weather in New Zealand is shit. Perfect environment to lock ourselves in and put our A into G. And with that that said screens are almost done for 'Revolt of Cool Cats' winter/autumn 2012. Some clothes manufactured and have sewn a bunch of tags into necklines. Speedy Pants!

A new rule in the Lopsey office to blog once a day (we will try) so here is todays update.

No rest for the Wicked

As the saying goes 'no rest for the wicked', so while you're lapping up the pre new years fun I'm doing what keeps me going; working on Lopsey.

The new collection is under way, think 90's, grunge, harley davidson and you're probably on the right path. 'Revolt of the Cool Cat' is the best from Lopsey so far with release set for late February/March we can't wait.

Along with our new name we now have a new Youtube channel as well, can you believe youtube won't allow you to change your username? So we started from scratch.

Lopsey farewells the Market Scene

So it was really good while it lasted! Cassette Supermarkets, First Thursdays and Auckland City Market were great hosts to a few Lopsey stalls. All of our goodies will still be available through our online store here and even through our facebook page here! But all of this is just until we get our boutique up and running, just you wait kids!

Got a card from NZ post yesterday to pick up a package. I knew exactly what it was. All the way from Sydney I got to feel the samples for our LB (heart) MG jewellery collaboration with the kids at Ms General Designs. Can't wait to get these guys out to you :)

'If Fairies ran a Commune' photoshoot

Just unwinding from our summer/spring collection photoshoot. We went to the beautiful Pakiri beach which gave us amazing weather and amazing photos. We will be blogging sneak peaks every day until we officially put our collection up for sale, here's the first installment. 

The way there

We had what some may think was an early start. After fueling up Serene's dad's family van and working out how to pay to toll booth we were on our way.

The beach took it out of us a bit. I didn't want to leave though, they kinda forced me to the car. If you haven't been to Pakiri this shot does little to show its beauty but we'll save that for later.

If Fairies ran a Commune

'If Fairies ran a Commune' is our women's SS collection 2011/12. It's a revelation for LB in stumbling across our aesthetic. To describe it in a few words I'd say bohemian, simple, clean, feminine and the 'lopsey uniform'. It's got a bit of velvet, feathers, tie dye and cotton lace. Can't wait till next Wednesday when we'll have our photo shoot and can share it fully with you.

Happy Birthday Va :)

One of my best and longest friends has turned 20 today! I just wanted to take this opportunity to say what a beautiful and amazing woman you have turned out to be. I know your family, partner and friends are all as proud of you as I am. You have been a great support and springboard for me during my high school years, and it's awesome to see you stomping all over the challenges life is throwing at you.

Thanks from the LB fams for coming to the rescue and letting us use your sewing machine while ours are down, what a life saver.

Our collaboration with Sydney folk Miss General Designs is underway, well actually kind of nearing the end. Kate at Miss General has been working amazingly hard on the production of these bad boys which soon will be reaching the shores of Auckland where our LB family will get hard at work sorting out a photoshoot and then they will be put up on our online store yay :)

Aaron turned the big 21 :) x

So we're all getting into the nitty gritty atm, which is why the blog has been a bit neglected. Me and devon are balancing uni with our creative endeavours, georgia and lucy are working gals (if you need any MAC products visit Lucy at St Lukes, she knows her stuff) and Aaron is also amoung the work force whilst tryna get out his designs for our next male line. Excited to see what he brings to the Lopsey aesthetic!

But nonetheless we are all still hanging out and sending out our creative vibes through eachother. A couple of weekends ago we all gathered to celebrate Aaron and his beut sister Haleys 21st. Had an awesome time and was slightly jealous when I found out they were Squirt. I always wanted to be one of those kids :(

Heading to wellington this weekend with Tautai Pacific arts trust to see the opening of Graham Fletchers Lounge Room Tribalism! love his work, read his thesis and can't wait to see the end result.

After that we will be pumping out the womens line out and then will be at Cassette Supermarkets every week.

13th June

Had a photo shoot on Monday with Devon for our online store. This morning I uploaded 21 new products including Nana Lopsey Range, velvet sweaters and owl stitch crops. It was a lot of fun, it always is with dev though. Big thanks to her and Elly (my sister) who we dragged into modeling for us.

So this means two of our three ranges which were coming out end of july, are already here and it's only just mid-june!

But see you at Cassette tomorrow?

So I earlier said 3 new ranges by late July. There will definately be 3, but they will be different to what we originally entaled. With Aaron dancing his way around the states, and just to be on the safe side, we're pushing the release of our mens and womens Summer ranges back to September. Which only means we have longer to perfect it, yay!

So instead of releasing these our new ranges will be 'Homewares', of which you've had a sneak peak, 'Nana Lopsey', this includes the blanketed gonks, hottie covers and bags. Might I add she is busy sewing up a storm to keep up with demand! And the last was an unexpected venture, 'LB says HI'.

'LB says HI' is a range of hand made one off greeting cards, which shall keep on replenishing themselves. Here we take the best the of the 'lopsey boutique aesthetic' and put pen to paper. These are available now on our online store, or in person this Saturday at Cassette Super Market :)

Cassette Super Markets on the 11th June, were definately super fun! We met some awesome people including Amber from Butterfly Eye, who is supplying us with all our jewellery for the summer photo shoot and up and coming artist Dominique :) To see photos from the day (taken by devon from Devon Hana Photography check out our facebook page!
